Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church

713 Twelfth Street S.W.
Willmar, MN 56201

Builder: Hendrickson Organ Co., Op. 101, 2002.
Originally Hendrickson Op. 55, 1982
Manuals: 2
Ranks: 12
Pipes: 808
Action: Direct electric

Notes: The accompany photos show examples of each instrument (1982 and 2002).  Opus 101 was the result of construction of a new sanctuary on the same property, but the number of ranks and stoplist did not chane. In 2010 four parishes merged under a common administration with offices at St. Mary's.

The visible pipes, oak windchests and expressive swell box are supported on the rear wall of the church. The movable console and bench are located ahead of the organ. All of the visible pipes of the organ are speaking pipes and are made from alloys of tin and lead, aluminum, zinc, and wood. The visible wood of the organ and console have been stained to harmonize with the other woods of the church interior. Voicing by David Engen.

Charles Hendrickson, the organ builder is a native of Willmar. He attended Lafayette Grade school and Willmar High School. His father, Roy Hendrickson, established a law office in Willmar in the early 1930's. Following his father's death in 1954, the family moved to St. Peter, Minnesota.

Photos and information from Hendrickson company and Organ Historical Society as of 2009.
